What We Build.
What We Think.

Case studies from our projects and ventures, perspectives on innovation, and research from the studio. Everything we share comes from direct experience, built, not theorized.

Before AI learns from your history, ask what it never recorded

Historical records show what the old process noticed, which is less than what customers needed. Before an AI system learns from them, we propose reviewing what's missing with the people who did the work, and taking a decision on each gap.

Before you count the savings, plan how to stop the agent

An AI agent that keeps repeating a mistake won't set off an outage alarm, and stopping it leaves half-finished work in several systems. We propose designing and rehearsing the stop before go-live, and letting the fallback it needs decide how much of the team you can really free up.

What will it cost to check the agent's work?

An AI agent saves effort only where its work can be checked in less time than it would take a person to do it. We propose choosing the first agentic workflows by the cost of checking, and designing the check before the agent.

Which decisions are still mine after AI arrives?

When AI takes over part of a role, the transparency people need is about who decides what, not about strategy. We propose checking this before go-live: can the people affected walk through real cases and say which decisions are still theirs?

Who can change your AI system when the business changes?

The real test of an AI system often comes months after launch. We propose making it part of the handover: can the team that will own the system specify, judge and authorise a real change?

Which parts of a process actually need AI?

The right design might combine models, conventional software and human judgment. It might also be simpler than the original proposal.
